L4. Lit Rev - Generating Research Questions

Lesson 4

Question that test students on what to look for in searching for information

Plants need nitrogen to build proteins and nucleic acids to grow healthy stems and leaves. Though the Earth's atmosphere is made up of 79% nitrogen, the form of nitrogen found in the atmosphere cannot be used by plants. In this experiment, you will compare plants grown with different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer.

What are the possible research questions that you would ask for in this topic?

·      What are the plants that need nitrogen fertilizers?
·      What are the fertilizers that contain nitrogen compounds?
·      How am I going to grow the plants? (watering frequency, what soil to use, how much soil to use)
·      How do you grow the selected plants? (temperature, in shade or in the sun)
·      How do I carry out the experiment? (the method)
